Alena Stoli: androsForm Beauty Of The Moment

I must admit I was a bit stunned when I found out that the gorgeous Alena Stoli who I had been going back and forth with via email for this feature was an Investment Associate. Not because I’m sexist and I think men should run the financial arena because we’re in some way superior to women (we’re not),  but rather because of the massive amount of time such a profession takes up. To be able to compete the way Alena does while maintaining her job in the world of investing says a great deal about her character and dedication. You don’t want to be in the way of this lady and her goals.

Born: Irkutsk, Russia – January 9, 1990
Currently Resides: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Profession(s): Investment Associate
How’d you get into fitness/exercise?

I have been active since early childhood, partaking in sports like gymnastics, dance, basketball, soccer and snowboarding. In the past five years I have also done aerobics, spin and yoga. However it was only a year and a half ago that I started training with weights. I started working with my trainer (who is a former power lifter and bodybuilder) in September 2011. My body fat at our first assessment was at an “obese” reading of 29%. I then started vigorously training and dieting to put on muscle mass and decrease body fat. I found that weight training helped me obtain the body I always wanted more so than former types of exercise. I fell in love with the pump and my growing lean muscles and I have been hooked ever since!
Favorite Exercise? (lift or type)

Squats! The old fashioned squat makes for the perfectly firm and round booty.
Favorite “Cheat” Food?

Nutella and anything chocolate, I could eat a whole jar of Nutella with a spoon for my cheat meal!
Favorite Moment From Your Career So Far?

Definitely winning first place in my category (Figure, Medium Tall) at the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic 2012 show in my home town Vancouver.  Winning first place felt like the biggest accomplishment ever. Seeing that all of my hard work had paid of felt so incredible.
If everything you’re currently doing and planning comes to fruition, what are you doing in 10 years and where are you doing it?

In ten years I would love to be up on the Olympia stage competing with the IFBB pros like Larissa Reis, Nicole Wilkins and Candice Keene. My greatest dream is to earn my pro card and one day be able to compete on the world stage.
Closing Words:

Over the last year and a half of my amazing competing experience I have learned so much about myself and my body and have had such tremendous support from my friends. I just want to encourage everyone who is starting their fitness journey to keep going and to look for support in the fitness community. It is such a loving and wonderful fit family. There were days where I felt like giving up but I turned to my fitness friends for support and they pulled me back up on my feet. Just remember to surround yourself with positive thoughts and positive people and keep going even when the journey gets tough, the end result is ALWAYS worth it.
